Adventures in alternative medicine, part 1

There are a limited number of GPs in Civic, the closest, largest and conventional of these seems to be eternally booked solid a week in advance so on a couple of occasions I've ended up with a Chinese doctor near by.

He thinks the knee is a strained ligament which confirmed my plans to take it easy for a week or so and also recommended voltaren gel and acupuncture.

On the principle of "don't knock it if you haven't tried it", I tried it. The doctor used three pins - one above, two below the knee plus a heat lamp focussed on the knee.

There was some relief at the end of the session but it faded fairly quickly. I have another appointment on Thursday and we'll see if it helps some more then.

Also too early to tell if the voltaren is helping.
