The lock at work was superglued shut but fortunately was only through the pannier rack rather than the frame. This resulted in the rack being left locked to the shed at work whilst I rode home and a friend dropped the bag home for me.
Yesterday the security team at work freed the lock from the shed but not from the rack. However this was enough for me to remount the rack and ride out to Fuse Recumbents where I discovered that an angle grinder is really pretty at night. Kind of like fireworks. :)
Riding at night can be pretty but also very cold. Brrrrr.
Whilst I was there we discovered that I've blown another bulb in the dynamo headlight so once again I have one headlight that only switches on when I stop riding. Fortunately I have redundancy in my lighting systems which means that I don't miss it (much). A new bulb has been ordered and will arrive in due course.
The thing that concerns me is that this may not have been the first incident - about a week back the quick release for the hinge released mid-ride and the trike concertinad on me. Not dangerous, just disconcerting. But as I've noted previously the quick release is designed to prevent this happening.
I'll be on the lookout for a third incident - as the saying goes: once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is enemy action.
