I think this weekend I'm about to discover the major disadvantage of living on a major northbound route in Canberra: Summernats. The annual event where Canberra turns into petrolhead hoon town heaven.

Sleep may be in short supply and I may be better off avoiding the roads where possible.

OTOH I might get to see some nifty and amusing bumper stickers.

Recent sighting: Yesterday I saw some sort of 4WD/Ute crossover thing done up with a (mostly) black paintjob that illustrates the US Prohibition/Bootleggers period of the 1920s.

I'm not sure if it was part of the paintjob or a sticker but I saw the following on the back:

"Insured by the Mafia: You hit us, We hit you."

In fairly poor taste I thought but it did still appeal to my twisted sense of humour. :)

The glorious cycle path network and quiet back roads in Canberra mean that I don't ride in traffic all that often.

There are brief stretches on my daily commute when I do, and I'm finding that bumper stickers are at eye level when I stop behind a car.

The best I've seen for a while was this morning:

"Feminism is the radical notion that women are people."

First reaction: Thats cool. I relate to that as a definition.

Second reaction: Pity it needs the word "radical", "conservative" would be a much cooler world to be living in.
